Good morning everyone!
Now that a week has passed since I begin trekking the kingdom, I can finally come back to being a regular human again 😅 Being slightly less obsessed and being able to do other things than gaming all waking moments *aherm*
As I was working when this launched, I had it preorded my copy off amazon, so I got it a day after. I had been wanting to order it off ebgames but alas- couldn’t get my password and they waited the WHOLE WEEKEND to send it to me so I had given up.. 🤦🏽♀️
** SPOILERS BEWARE – Not really for the story, but some of the gameplay/monsters/etc **
I gotta say I really like the concept of having three layers of map, being able to flip and teleport from Hyrule to the sky to the depts !! So fun, as it add so much more hours of gameplay .. and you know we love that here.
However- I hate how they waited SO. LONG. to give you both the teleportation features from the sanctuaries and the paraglide. Do you know how much useless deaths I got for falling off things.. 😅 Way too many, little old me got way to used to having that thing.
It’s a good mix of having things we know & love from BOTW, while having new things added in the mix. Heck, I freaked when I got attacked by a tree and found some cave goblins, as I wasn’t expecting that one; I also quite like being able to go in the wells — The villagers actually recognising you !!! The koroks!!! hoping the last reward is better than a giant golden turd. The fact that they kept your old horses!!!
What I like less however, is how they changed the layout of the map ;-; Here I was, thinking the great fairies were gonna be in the same spots, etc.. but nope- they shifted some towns/fairies and all the shabang. Which means I’m sorta going in circles trying to find my way until I get all the towers xD As of which I always like to complete as the very first thing so I know where i’m going- and have a few teleporters already.
Memories of our past adventures; Mr. Painter & how we saved the zoras with Sidon
Link’s new arm has more or less the same functions as the sheikah slate used to have; except for the bombs & the cryonis (the gel thing..). The newer ones allow you to assemble things together and infiltrate roofs!! Which is pretty cool, I just need to get used to and remember to use them more often 😅
I also haven’t used the new moving features much either, now the Soneau’s artefacts. Though I love how accessible those are, literally everywhere there’s little “dumps” of construction stuff! There’s also a few more things to collect other than the koroks, I’m not sure what all of them do gives us yet, but I do love me some collector stuff to find.
So yeah, I’m really enjoying myself back in the wild of Hyrule; although I don’t think it’ll absolutely go over BOTW for me, as I restarted that thing countless time and I’m dearly attached to it. I just got to the Goron quest, and found the fire temple.. While I did start my Zelda journey with Ocarina of Time, I gotta say I liked it much better with the devine beasts in BOTW without the “true temples”.
I’m overall pleased with the game, so much joy, and we got reunited with my uncle – as of which I played my first Zelda game with- we now message each other about the game and “Have you gotten there yet? Have you done that?”; which is probably worth more than anything else 🥰
Have you gotten it yet? Do you plan to?
