Not in Love ~ Aly Hazelwood β˜† Book Review

Good morning!

I’ve finally gotten another Ali Hazelwood novel, so far i’ve been loving those! This one is a bit more spicy than my usual, but I enjoyed it nonetheless πŸ‘€

Although Rue is more of a “colder” and socially awkward MC, I can tell that I found myself in her. I, too, can’t seem to make new friendships work. I miss social cues, i’m being looked as being too wierd.. same as she did growing up.

Eli’s chapters were also really good! You can see both characters difference between how they feel VS how the other percieved them. He seems to be a good balance from Rue’s personality.

The friendship aspect of both MCs as being really important was amazing! Rue with Tisha & Florence, Eli with his sister & the rest of his business partners- which I had found absolutely hilarious! (Especially the part they asked if he rode Rue πŸ™ˆ)

The sexual angst was so powerful, making my breath catch whenever they’d fall into it. The scenes were tasteful and respectful- a big plus! Her limits were respected and he always sought to do whatever felt best to her and get her off as much as possible.

Definitively more sex scene than i’m used to; and although it took time for them to get there and understand they were in love with eachother, I love that they do. How someone like Rue, who also misses social cues and aren’t very liked from others just like me, can find such an awesome person who looks heart-eyes at her ever since he met her. Whom he’d do whatever the hell for her, giving her his life and the moon if she’d ask for it. Placing her before his job and his friends — this gives me hope.

    1. This one is actually one of the most physical in her books- the FMC being in denial of her ability to feel love, they definately have sex more often. I like that Aly Hazelwood did started the book with a note on that, so we can choose if we want to read still or not!

    1. It’s a different one compared to the others, she left a note saying there was an increase in sex as her character thought herself to be unable to love- but that wasn’t a problem for me!
