I feared I wasn’t gonna like it when I started.. but this is DEFINATELY worth the hype ❤️❤️  Absolutely loved it; by 40% in the book, I was swooning!

Their romance between August & Jane starts in a quite un-usual way.. as somehow it helps uncover the mystery of how to get Jane back where she belongs, being reduced to bare mechanics, but it gets to be so much more. One of my absolute favorite romance: the one where they know they shouldn’t.. but ofcourse do fall for the other anyway- and there’s nothing they can do to stop the train! The chemistery & heat between them is 🔥🔥🔥

« You did. And that is what you need to put your trust in. Because you got what you need. And sometimes, the universe has your back »

August has been so relatable to me; not only because she have anxiety, but also because she showed her fear of the future.. of what it means to be out of school. And boy did I felt that too, the fear that there’s nothing out there for you.. i couldn’t help but tear up. That was the moment the novel got me hooked.

I liked the detail that August’s mother is caught in the dissapearence of her brother, constantly researching that cold case, involving August since childhood. It definately added dept in the story, aswell as giving August an eye for details & research skill ingrained within her.

I adored August’s family of misfits that they created; Herself being bisexual, Niko a trans latino & a psychic in a relationship with Myla, queer & black, aswell as Wes being queer & jewish. I’d also add Isaiah next door being a gay drag queen.

Finally we also get Jane, a chinese american woman from the ’70s, lesbian and fighting for the LGBTQ+ rights.

Though they all have different background & personalities, they just fit so well together! Such a wonderful found family story, all taking care of each other ❤️
