Places we’ve never been ~ Kasie West ☆ Book Review

Good morning!

Although having several of her books in my wanting to read, this one is the first one that I actually read from her. Yet again, another book that I saw on someone else’s lists and thought it seemed like a good one!

Keep or unhaul? Keep!

I love the premise of this, it makes me think of the era where we had a RV camper; reading the story of their trip absolutely makes me wanna go camping! Even if I totally haven’t in years.

From the way Norah picture herself as always feeling like she need to filter herself constantly around others, except for Skyler & Willow, I highly think she’s also neurodivergent – and I can really relate with her feelings!

Skylar and Norah’s relationship is super wierd, it even got me confused with how he’s suddently’s behaving- but I loved the moments they had together, on the rare moments where he seemed himself! There’s nothing like a inch of nostalgia, brigning memories & old mementos that I like in a story, it really anchors everything.

Skyler’s sister on the other hand was super sweet, so cute that she latched on Norah from the very beginning, despite being too young to really remember her from 4 years prior. I love the siblings dynamic in the novel, one family of two kids and the other of three; prior to the events, having Skyler & Norah together aswell as their older brothers being friends too.

Plot twist being two secrets instead of one, I managed to guess one right away! Except for the romance that was promised from the book jacket, things didn’t went as they were planned to be – but it made it even better ❤️

Another book where the characters are forced to grow through a rough patch, to in the end have a self-discovery they wouldn’t had gotten otherwise, planning for a prettier ending.
