Good morning,
I’ve received this review request back in July, so i’m quite late upon publishing it! The plot involving Amerindian’s lore and using a dream catcher within the plot itself instinctly attracted me — However, I have to admit I was rather scared of the fantasy aspect. Hence why I pushed it a little to make sure I was in a better state of mind before reading it.

I specially liked the written history behind the dream catchers; it was interesting to read about the culture itself that you might not have known otherwise.
The four characters were a nice gang to read about – although Lander complained alot, they had a nice team spirit and made sure everyone was cared for and safe throughout their adventure as much as they could. Choice was probably my favorite out of them, he seemed so sweet and followed every instruction given by Jory; it was pretty clear that he loved & admired her. On the other hand; Jory was a powerful, strong and calm character.
The gang experienced quite a lot and did their best to make sure all of them reached their goals as best as they could. Their survival instinct was very realistic, while also trying to keep their sanity up until the end of the nightmare’s journey.
* Although it started with only a few words bringing me some confusions, it evolved to more as I was attempting to finish it. This is by no means the book’s fault and is purely on the fact i had been over-working myself for a month, aswell as getting sick with a cold that my brain got some harder time picturing the turn of events.
Even if some details was blur in my mind, I could grasp the general idea of the trip, and this was a really unique journey! The ending even brought tears to my eyes, it was such a relief and happy tears — The author surprised me with the way it ended, as that wasn’t what I would’ve had imagined it’s ending; but so much better!

It was quite an honor to grace the pages of this blog! Why has it been that the First Nations Tribes have seldom been use in a POC plot and setting? I just had to make that right and give credit to their lore and cultural history without over-doing it. The sequel is out now and their is a heightened growth in the characters–we see them now in their more specific growth and glory. About three readers compared Jory to Katniss of The Hunger Games Trilogy, and I was truly unaware of that. It was a pleasure to have a strong female lead that really cared about her team. This review pointed out the heart of the kids who were grappling with a supernatural power that was so foreign to them,. Teamwork, courage, loyalty and love for each other dominated the theme. And yes, I got misty eyed writing the bitter-sweet ending. Blessed wishes–stay self and healthy–Christy (Chris)
To be honest, I’ve been thinking of that book alot lately! So it was quite the coincidence to have the news for the second one in my email 😅 I however decided not to for this time, as I have still a few books to read for Netgalley at this time, and it was still a harder readfor me in terms of “harder” english for a second language person like me- and with all going on and work being tedious.. I just can’t
