Sims 4; Island Living ☆ My impressions

Good morning,

Sims 4 meets summer time ~ Because book bloggers really are fans of sims, believe it or not, I actually got notified from this coming out from my friend @Kal’s twitter ! I was scrolling on my feed when I stumbled upon her RT of the trailer and saying how excited she was – naturally, I was too because MERMAIDS!! 😍

I actually haven’t played the Sims 3 version of this pack, but from what I heard I actually haven’t missed much, as it was quite wonky.

First, Making my mermaid!

Of course the first thing I wanted to know was if I could do my own mermaid – and sure enough, we can !! I liked most of our new clothings, and oh my, they gave us like FOUR different tails to choose from !! I also didn’t opted to do it, but we have “tops” that are basically just the scales going up the body and covering the breasts.

This pack also brings two new sim traits; “Kid of the ocean” and “kid of the island”

 

Next, living life!

🐟  First thing i’ve seen, is the new jobs. We now have the “ecologist” branch, but not only that, we also got new jobs in “part-time”* for lifeguard, fisherman aswell as divers!

* My bad, this apparently got added on the last update, which I hadn’t seen before getting this pack; Adults sims can now do what once was “teenage jobs” only. Meaning an adult could be a barista just like me, and I got overly excited at that !!

 

🐟  The difference with mermaid sims, is that the “hygiene” need has been switched for “hydratation” as mermaids need to stay hydrated. Now that make sense – but again, another wink at Kal for her recent story time… MERMAID SIMS CHANGE IN BATHS!! This probably made me more happy than it should’ve xD

 

🐟  Another thing that made me quite happy, was that we can now pick trash/seashells off the sand! And as for the jungle pack, we now have a few treasures that can be found in fishing traps or when fishing.

Of course, we got new fishies too. Something that surprised me at first, is that we now have the option to keep or release endangered fishs we gets ! Which I find is quite a nice little touch, considered the Ecologist Career. But also just look at this fish; I have no idea where it came from 😂 My mermaid’s fishing trait wasn’t high enough to catch it- and she was just swimming in water that has a green glow to it.. and well, I found it in her pockets 🤷🏽‍♀️ Also look at that! seems like we don’t even need aquariums to show fishies anymore, just splat that on the furniture xD

                              

 

🐟 While the new world is quite nice, there’s only really one of the three “neighborhood” that I like – being one who don’t really like traveling out of my family lot much, I like having most of stuff around it. And I was honestly kind of dissapointed that there wasn’t must lots or any stuff in this world.. (two beaches and a kind of “tiki bar”)
