The bakery at Seashell Cove ~ Karen Clarke ☆ Review

** Disclamer: I did received this book via NetGalley. This had in no way, shape or form affected my opinion on it. **

Upon starting this review, I just realized this is the second book from a “Seashell Cove” serie. The first one is « The Café at Seashell Cove » ; However, as I never noticed, this works good as a standalone too and is the kind of series that you can pick whatever book you want without needing to read them in order. (aka my favorite ones !)

My review;

4 / 5 = Loved it, plus has quite a meaningful story to it.

✘ Wasnt too sure in the beggining, as per usual, but it’s coming to something! I might like this one, I do feel so much for our poor Meg. I’m eager to see how this story will develop !

✘ !!!! Oooooh yesyesyes this is starting to be good (pinpoint halfway) and thoses descriptions for that kiss! Please more of that 🙈

✘ the humour contained in that book is so mine! The more “adult oriented” teasing kind- i love it! Giggled in my head a good couple of times.

✘ Although introduced as a “light read”, I haven’t thought that it was really as “light”; However, very good nonetheless. Gave me a bit of the cornerstore in cockleberry bay feels ~ as we don’t know whom gave it, but the slight difference that the bakery was indeed something Meg loved deeply.

Although I found it heavier than what the cover said it was; all the misadventures happening to the characters along the way really took me to heart.. I do think it’s one of the stories that we need to read. Maybe our first love doesn’t need to be our wedding partner just for the sake of everything else rather than our feelings; but that also doesn’t mean we can’t love the next one deeper.

I also appreciate how humoristic this novel can be ! I giggled in my head quite often; for more “adult” humour like I know I have, or even odd sayings i’d never heard of like « You could’ve buttered my butt and called me a cookie (..) »

I also particularly loved the character of Kath and Gwen – such unique women in their own way!

  1. Loved your review Kristina 🙂 This really sounds lovely and I am happy that you loved it so much. isn’t it the best feeling when we start a book without knowing anything and it turns out to be great? 😀

      not really without knowing anything though, but lately I do have that “eeeeeh… not sure” from the start where I just feel meh. you know ?? So always happy when I end up liking it xd
