The « but they can’t be together now » effect

When reading a love story, it seems like most of them have a role of «but they can’t be together NOW» aswell as «but they complete each other so much, and everyone knows that, so they must not make it».

Cue the interview of YUNGBLUD talking about his song 11 minutes. This has been turning and turning in my head for a while.. although it is about a story made up of lyrics of a song, I can definately see it in books aswell. Hearing his say it just pang something in me.

I’m all for Happy ever after stories, I don’t wanna hear any BS of a good love story not ending in the way that it should — because love always wins.

Though it might seems like a childish way of thinking, we don’t hear enough how love is more a decision than a feeling. Sure, at the start everything feels good and are magical.. but both parties need to take the decision to fight to remains together. At one point or another, it’s normal that the feeling kindof subside a bit for something more long-lasting.. and way too many people let go at this point. It’s not realistic to think the honeymoon phase of the first moments of love to stay there.

Need me more of thoses people fighting against all the odds, that sticks together and decide to commit to this no matter whatever happens & what the author throws at them. Let them get together in the first or second attempt and succeed as a couple on the aftermath! Where the bond between them, or even spite or the desire to be with the other wins over any other bad thing that can happen.

Because you’re most stronger together than on your own, it’s the power of love. You can achieve anything with it, so long as you’re stubborn enough to take it.
*spoiler; it had been an absolute delight to have this being the ending of the last conguring movie- because so much yes!! I happy teared at that part.*
