The inside & out book Tag
Good morning!
Looking for which tag I wanted to do today in the wordpress discover reader, I stumbled on this one on @A Russian Affair.
1. Inside flap/back of the book summaries: Too much info? Or not enough?
I just wanna know what the book is about! I don’t care about how many awards it got, or lots of random good reviews from celebrities.. I just wanna have the synopsis!! 😪Although I also like it when they includes a little phrase or two from the novel.
2. New book: What form do you want it in? Be honest: Audiobook, eBook, Paperback or Hardcover?
I generally go for paperback, although i’d take the hardcover if i really have to 😅. For some reason that I don’t even know, I don’t even buy ebooks — I’ve bought one, Meet me in cockleberry bay (I should get the 3rd one someday..). The rest of them that I’ve read are either arcs or borrowed from Libby.
3. Scribble while you read? Do you like to write in your books; take notes, make comments, or do you keep your books clean, clean, clean?
I still can’t write anything in my books, it makes me feel guilty in some way. Though I don’t mind when others do! I’ve found a book in our free little library at work where it looks like it was taken for a study of some kind.. the person had written the meaning of metaphors and stuff all over the pages and etc. It was kinda interesting to read!
4. Does it matter to you whether the author is male or female when you’re deciding on a book? What if you’re unsure of the author’s gender?
No.. I give more importance to what the book is about and it’s synopsis than to the author.
5. Ever read ahead? Or have you ever read the last page way before you got there?
I do tend to do that now.. ahaha Specially when i’m done reading for the night, but then it end on some kind of cliff- so I wanna keep reading but i know I gotta stop because it’s already late and I gotta wake up the next day.. so I flip a few pages to see bits of what will happen next if it’s good or bad.
I don’t go as far as reading the last page though.
6. Organized bookshelves or outrageous bookshelves?
As you’ve seen in my “organize my shelf with me” a while back, I don’t have any organization in my shelf 🤷🏽♀️ I wouldn’t go as far as say it looks “outrageous”, but it’s a question of feeling — I have no idea why I placed them where they are now, although it’s a mix of keeping the read/unread apart of each other & a tiny bit with height.
7. Have you ever bought a book based on the cover (alone)?
No. Although the nice cover might caught my eye, I focus more onto the synopsis and if it’s a book I think i’d enjoy.
8. Take it outside to read, or stay in?
I tend to read more staying in, in the middle of the night/before bedtime as I need it to be quiet to concentrate and it’s personally the best time to read! But sometimes I might try to push my luck and read outside in our little gazebo if the neighbor’s kid isn’t outside playing and screaming like crazy 😅 Which is another peak of reading at night.. no kids screaming nor dog’s barking! haha
