I don’t usually do posts like this, but as you could’ve seen on my February’s BujoΒ & I also tweeted it on the 24th right after buying it — I treated myself to a new shelf! I only had been saying I wanted to buy a new one for like 2years.. ahah so of course I wanted to share this experience with y’all π
In case anyone forgot what my older one looks like, here’s the before picture! I have no idea where it’s even from, this was a very old bookcase that we had from as long as I can remember. It was in our old house’s living room and as we moved in 2009, I got to have it in my room as I was basically the only one to read so – ahah
What I decided to do first is my gaming shelves; I had so many stuff that it didn’t fit in only one square anymore xd I decided to use the two biggest one on the top row on each side, so they kind of “frame” the shelf.

Next, I had to make room for my books that I had not yet read! This is my most overcrowded one… Although I don’t have enough books to fit in my new shelf now, I really need to read more of thosesΒ *aherm*
The rest don’t have any specific meanings to them.. it was just how I felt like putting them in right away. My shelves don’t really have any other shelving technique other than gaming/read/to be read; I just make sure the series remain together.

Aand –the end result !! Excuse the bad lighting, I honestly thought it would’ve came in on Monday after not having heard of them of friday.. but as I was working closing on Saturday they ended up calling; so I just had to do that when I came home around 11pmΒ π
As you can probably see, I actually got out of books.. I had hoped that this new one were a tad bigger than my older one; but I wasn’t expecting that. The squares are also so much wierdly higher rather than wider- but I figure that when I add more to my collection, I can just place them on their side instead of “upward”, so I can fit so much more when i’d need them.
How do you organize your shelves? Do you have a “system”?

Uhh I like your new shelf!
Right now I don’t have any system for my shelf. I have only one and it is packed with books there literally can’t be room for more. So I also have a big pile on my floor which isn’t optimal… I am looking for an extra shelf but it is hard to find one that I like… π
I totally second that! It Took me quite a while to find one that I liked and that wasnβt too too pricey for me π Goodluck finding yours! Xx
Mine are rainbow. I have a smaller shelf set between them, and that houses all my bookish goodies, library books, dust jackets, and physical arcs.
Sounds so beautiful!! I wish I could manage rainbow.. haha clearly I lack colors π and well, it bothers me to mix read and unread together π
Great bookshelf! I actually reorganized my books this weekend. I had been organizing them by genre for few years, so now I just wanted to have all my series and authors together and even show some of the book covers like I’ve seen often in pinterest. Then I put all the books I don’t really care about as down from my bookshelves as I could. It actually made me realize that I have tons of books I ant to unhaul.
