To the Rescue ☆ Gaming review

‘Morning!

Back in July, I’ve shared Steam games I couldn’t wait for release– To the rescue being one of them! I’m happy to report that it has been released earlier this month 😄, I’ve currently clocked a 12.4hrs in the game after buying it 2days prior.. and I’ve just finished the “storyline” of 8weeks.

This indie game is available on Steam, aswell as switch; and 20% of sales going to real rescues! (official website|steam)

We know that I like big games, non-ending if possible, so I LOVE how you can just keep playing- or even start a game in sandbox mode where you don’t even need to worry about money and just have fun.

Screenshot of my rescue, named “Dach Rescue” – I like to have all my dogs in one place and shuffle them all in this room whenever possible (I also like to match them to the bowl color when moving them.. so it doesn’t need to take new food)

The start of the game has been harder than I expected! The more dogs you get, the more things get hectic and overwhelming — which later get fixed by being able to hire people; right now I have two helpers (one to refill food, and one for refill water & pickup poop). It’s quite a simple cosy game to play in which you don’t need to think so much — and it’s quite addictive 😅 I can easily play 5/6hrs back to back without even knowing.

Beside the obvious feed/wash dogs, you get to have them adopted – some people coming with a general « I want a dog! », some have specific traits in mind that we need to find matching doggos to.

Screenshot of my game; as you can see, we can tell their needs of food, water and if they’re getting dirty. Their name, prefered food aswell as their size & breed is also given. Their personality traits aswell as health status are randomized and different for each ones — the “goal” here is to raise their adoptability so they’re most likely to be chosen by an adopter (this is made either by vaccinating them, or raising their needs).

There’s also a few more things we can do! Events are randomized so we can get either a disease spread, or even a puppy litter donation randomly pop-up.

With the computer, we can upgrade our character’s skills aswell as give tasks to our helpers. The rescue also have a facebook page; via where you can like adopter’s pictures to get reputations, and do various events to gain money/reputations/random animals adopted or even new foster homes!

I’m really loving this one, definately will becoming my next go-to game along with Sims! Even better than I had wished for when I saw it the first time!

Highly recommend if you like simulation games and animals xx

    1. I had an obsessive playing spree for like 3days in a row ahah 😅 there’s still little lags here and there but overall they didn’t bothered me too much
