Topic obsession; Paris Catacombs

Helloo!

As of late, i’ve been obsessing over the paris Catacombs – despite never even been in Paris or travelled for that matter, plus i’m claustrophobic- and being so much feets underground overall don’t seems like a good idea. All logic aside, i’m really loving the topic!

If I would ever to visit Paris, I would love to atleast see the public site of the catacombs – although I really got an interrest to seeing beyond that, all those grafitis and rooms that you shouldn’t been allowed in.

In this specs, I loved the video from french youtuber Squeezie where they stayed 72hrs straights in the catacombs before getting out again. I’ve ofcourse watched the movie As above so below.

Book-wise, i’ve only read two so far aswell; Under the surface & Destination Extrème: les catacombes de parisI’m really looking forward to rereading under the surface; despite clearly not asking french native for her writing in this book, I got such a thrill reading it – and we love the catacombs maps!!

ofcourse I need more recs, I want to read & watch them all!

Do you have more catacombs recs for me? 😏

  1. I just recently read a great series that takes place in the Paris and the catacombs it’s the Parisian Ghosts series by Janna Ruth, I read the first 4 books and really enjoyed them. I can definitely recommend the series, lots of descriptions of the catacombs in the books. I didn’t know a lot about it and this series definitely gave me more knowledge of it all. I am claustrophobic too so definitely not a place I would want to explore in real life, so it was fun to be able to do so through books.

  2. Oh, the Paris catacombs, if I ever visit Paris I would LOVE to go there. Probably alone, because my hubby is tall and he doesn’t like cramped spaces. I would love to read that Destination extrême but it seems to be only in French and my French is well, basic. XD Did you read the Cassidy Blake series by Victoria Schwab? The second book is set in Paris with the catacombs!

    1. Yes sorry its a quebec french book 🙈 that being said it’s be a great practice! (Although the dialect isnt the same..)
Oooh no I havent- though I haven’t been encline to read her book, as theyre more fantasy toned, but ill check it out!

      1. Ah yes, I remember an online friend of mine who lives in Canada and her French at times was different from what I remember in school. XD Well this series is more paranormal/ghost-themed that is also what pulled me into reading it.
