What’s your comfort Videogame?
Good morning!
It’s been a while since we had a nice videogame chats, so that’s what I have for you today 😌 Gaming can serve the same purpose as reading would; which can be either connecting with people, or simply escape reality for a little while.
I’m sure we all have some sort of comfort reading, wether it is a specific book or genre — Our go-to whenever we need a good pick-me up, or something that just means so much to us.
With starting to use my bookstagram more, I discovered a new genre of games on instagram that I never really explored before (I’m mainly a nintendo gal, as i’ve been introduced to that world pretty early in life by my uncle. I never really went too far from it; though I discovered more games that I liked since, I didn’t really asked myself what genre it was; pretty similar as I did with books), and that is Cozy gaming. Basically it’s for the more calmer games out there, that are perfect for relaxing.
To be honest with you, I have no idea if my picks fits the bill for it or not 😅 as i’m pretty new to the concept.. though I can almost certify for the first one, i’m not too sure of the other.
♥ The Sims franchise
As mentionned, I started playing games at around 5years old when my 17years old uncle was babysitting me. Once of my very first games was the original Sims; through the years, i’ve played every one of them — currently being obsessed with the Sims 4. I don’t usually have too many games that i’m playing at once, but Sims 4 is always a constant with me, no matter what else I might be playing.
♥ Zelda; Breath of the wild
I can’t even fathom how many times i’ve restarted this damn game since it released 😅 Which i’m also currently restarted not too long ago, so that’s what i’ve been playing lately. While that had always been a common behavior of mine of restarting my games, I get into periods where I get urges to replay it- and it being literally the only thing I can think about; I even dream constantly that i’m playing a zelda game ahah!

Really fun post! My comfort games would be Animal Crossing or a Kirby game, and back when my Gameboy Advance worked without help it would also been Sword of Mana.

The Sims is my comfort videogame too! I’ve been a fan of the franchise since the first game and I’ve put the most hours into The Sims 2 but I tend to gravitate towards The Sims 4 these days. I’m currently attempting a legacy challenge in my Sims 4 save and I’m up to my third generation 😀
I should try challenges like that! but after the 3rd gen is usually when I get tired of my current save and start another hahah
