Where do I find my ideas for posts ?

Hey !

Okay, yes, I know xD with what I’ve said in the previous post about not having the inspiration… this is quite ironic that this is the very next post going after, mh ?

Well.. that’s just how I got inspired ahah I can’t control that 🤷🏽‍♀️
Anyway ! So here’s my tips/where I usually find my ideas to write my blog posts, hopefully this shall be a little inspiring for you aswell 🙂

1) While i’m at work
This one was more when I was working at the Sex Shop, as it usually occur to me when i’m cleaning and well.. I have alot more time dealing with customers now *aherm*..

but this post right here actually got flinged into my head while I was mopping my floors/cleaning the bathrooms ! 😄

2) From other bloggers (bloghopping, past prompts..)
Sometimes you just need a little help, sometimes you happen to read a post while bloghopping and your brain go “PING!” with an idea.

**Very important to say/tag the person/specific post that inspired you. we don’t want no idea stealers here..**

3) Tags
Let’s say it .. tags are really handy when you have no idea what you wanna post. It’s fun, readers can learn more about your tastes and the person behind the blog; plus, let’s face it, there’s a SEA of tags out there XD

4) Do a list.. bloggers LOVE lists
Enough said. It can be anything ! Your list of what shows you wanna watch, your top “X” of books, anything you can list is good !

5) Talk with people!
Wether it’s family or other bloggers, sometimes someone will say something and it just clicks in your brain and there you have an idea for your post !

Granted I’m not the one talking of anime over here, but one exemple of that is how my coworker was saying how Netflix had a new anime and she was excited because she loved the Netflix originals animes… and it clicked onto a neat post idea would be going over our opinion of Netflix original animes VS “classic anime website” animes.

6) Look over what you may do different
Exemples of this can be how you write your reviews, how you get your ideas (a-ha!), what you use your bullet journal for, your tips to stay organized..

PS; Don’t forget to write your ideas somewhere !! It can always come in handy, even if you don’t feel like writting it/don’t have an idea of how to develop it now.

How do you get your ideas ? Do we have some in common?

  1. We have a lot of these in common! Also, I’m really glad to see others find inspiration in, ah, other blogs and their past posts, and that you also spoke about giving credit to where it’s due. It’s so important! And lastly: bloggers love lists is THE REALEST thing I’ve ever read because we truly do love lists and I’m totally writing a list for a future blog post as I comment this. Haha!

    1. Thank you!
I so love tags aswell 🙈 though the hardest for me is the « associate a book/character to something » tags, as for whatever reason my brain go completely blank and I forget all ive ever read :k

  2. I get a lot of my ideas randomly in the shower, as I’m trying to fall asleep, or seeing Twitter discourse 😂 and then when I come back to the list later, I have no idea what I was thinking at the time anymore oops. but I definitely also get inspired by reading others’ blogs, though I don’t really talk to people if I can avoid it 😜

    1. Yeps 😂😂 if I get some before sleeping I usually just go and write the whole thing by hand in a notebook for the next day to type, as usually I dont get just « idea ». I get « idea » and the whole « how id write this » 🙈
Ahahah well sadly… living with my parents AND working in a cafe doesnt really let me avoid it much 🙃

  3. I am definitely one of the humans that gets ideas in the bathrooms – it’s an inspiring place :))) although my bathroom is really cute and has a lot of rubber ducks.

Other than that, usually on walks or when reading books – since I do not really do individual reviews, I try to come up with ideas to add more books in the same post.

  4. I always forget to write them down somehow. I always get them when I’m on the phone or somewhere where I don’t have access to paper or my phone 😅

  5. I’ve been having a bit of trouble coming up with blog post ideas, but definitely I get inspired by other people’s posts, or conversations on Twitter – and LISTS. OMG I love lists. Haha.

  6. I will admit that I get a lot of my post ideas, especially for discussions, in the shower. There is just something about being alone with my thoughts in the bathroom that helps me think creatively. Like you, I also get ideas while doing busy work/cleaning as my mind tends to wander.

In addition to tags, I also find memes to be helpful with scheduling content. I have been doing Top Ten Tuesday for a while now, and there is always a way to twist the topic a little to make it unique to your blog. Other memes, like Tell Me Something Tuesday, are good too since they give you a topic and you can write whatever you want.

    Thanks for the tips!

    1. Ah yes, meme ! I’ve been doing Dani’s I heart characters one, though it’s a bit harder for me as with thoses I suddently forget ALL that i’ve read and that can fit the prompt XD

  7. These are all great! I don’t really get many good ideas for posts at work but I do sometimes after work on my commute home. The other place I sometimes get ideas at is the shower (random, I know!). Of course blog hopping is always great for inspiration too!

  8. I’m glad I am not the only one that does a whole bunch of copying other people’s ideas. I’m always like, ‘Oh, that looks likema fun post to do!’

    1. Yep, I do too!
Each month my « planning of posts » have a section for where I have been tagged and another for my ideas that ive had that month :3
