Blog posts series/memes ; What do we think?

Hello!

Time for another converse post; this time I want both your opinions as the writer and the reader – Which one do you like to write the most? Which ones do you prefer to read?

Blog posts series;

➞ To be honest, i’m so bad with keeping up with them 😂 last one to date that I created was « Blogging as a second language – 1, 2 », I ran out of topics pretty quickly.. so I admire bloggers who create and keep up with so many series!

➞ As for which ones I personally like to read; Anything giving blogging/SEO tips and tricks, US VS UK covers.

Memes;

➞ Thoses are quite popular among the blogosphere! There’s so many of them, and they seems to just keep popping. My only problem as a writer is that well.. many involves around finding characters/books that fit a certain prompt. As of which i’m really bad at, once again 😂 As soon as you need me to think of books giving a specific feeling, or that all go around a certain theme, I completely blank and don’t remember ANYTHING that i’ve ever read. Of course there’s also a few of them that isn’t quite book related.

I’ve done a few of them; « Down the tbr hole », « I heart characters » & « Micro brew » are ones that i’ve did the most of. There’s a few that I should get onto at some point, as I find them pretty cool, but I feel that having a set schedule of Sunday, Monday & Thursday, I kinda struggle when the meme involves posting at a certain point in the week..

➞ I don’t really have specific ones that I like to read, I mostly go with what prompts interest me the most. Generally I like the Top 5 or Top 10, First lines Fridays, Stacking the shelves ..

Now it’s your turn!

  1. I’m not great at keeping up with blog series either, The only one I’ve kept up is my Fun with Spam series—I’m up to #9 on those because they’re so fun to write! I don’t keep up with memes much either, but I do enjoy doing TTT every now and again.

    1. Yess!! i do love that serie of yours. And I mean, never-ending contents as we always get our spams, right? 😂 talking of them.. I get random ones lately just « you’re wrong. DM me for details » like.. wat.

  2. I can never keep up with series when I start them. I do appreciate the memes though top 10 tuesday has saved many times when I didn’t have any other ideas 🙂

    1. Yes! Now you actually need ideas to do them ahaha 😅 many times idk what to write, but idk what to do for thoses prompts either!! Ahahaha so im kind of screwed xd

  3. I do the Sunday Post & a few others as I feel like it! I’m not too picky, but I just love reading opinions, about book covers as well!

    1. While I do enjoy reading the sunday post of others.. I just feel like I wouldn’t have much to say xD I don’t read that many books in a week, and MOST of my week consider of working .. 😡

  4. I think the memes are great when you need a post idea on the fly, but I do tend to stick with WWW as I find it the most enjoyable one to do whereas I can’t be bothered to think of 5 or 10 things sometimes lolol

    1. Same 🙈 most thing I can list is maybe three.. hahaha
      As to WWW – only reason I wouldn’t do it is because 1) I never know what I wanna pickup and 2) I can spend weeks on a book, so idk- I feel like what im reading/what I finished would be bleh anyway?

  5. i like them but only when people put effort into the post, like i see a lot of the top ten ones and its just book covers and im like …. why did i come here? yknow.

    its nice when people talk about the books chosen / why there off the tbr piles etc!! 🙂

    1. yes ! I agree. atleast tell a bit of the “why” it’s on the list. Specially for people like me who didn’t read it and have NO IDEA what that book is XD

  6. I’m not so good with blog series, either, I admire people keeping up with them at all times! As for memes, I like the lists sometimes, but… when people give me reasons and a little more than just a book cover, because I’m here to know why you picked out these specific books, too. I used to do these kind of memes, especially top ten tuesdays, but I stopped because I forgot everything I read when I encountered the themes, too, hahaha.

    1. Ahaha that really is a problem, eh 😅
      I absolutely agree with you, a list is nice but… what’s the plot that make it relevant? What were your feelings on it? Etc.
