Blogging with anxiety; Content Wise
Hello!
So after having written one “blogging with anxiety” post about the before/during and after of postings [which you can find here!], I decided to go on and continue on that launch and talk about the blog’s content in general!
Although we all know by now that i’ve broaded up what i’m posting to not only bookish contents and conversation posts, but now also includes gaming, blogging, bullet journaling, sometimes animes, mental health, and all kind of other things that I feel like writing. But, anxious me still overthink about what my posting look like — as said in the first post, like keep double-checking to make sure all posts of the month went through.
I’m also worrying about how close to each other things are. Per exemple, I can’t have two reviews close to each other – even if one would be a game review VS a book review or even a review conversation .. the fact the main topic here is around reviews, I feel like people would find it bothering or wierd to have few of that in a row. Likewise, If I decide to join memes or monthly prompts, it bothers me to have them one next to each other — I just need to have something else in-between per good measure.
If we remember, I’ve asked you guys what you think of a blogger’s own writting — which in my case would be just me rambling about different things going through my mind.. The post is dated from October, and yet I still haven’t written anything about that; while the categories and everything is in place for it.
It’s not even because I don’t have ideas, because lately it’s all that i’ve been running through my mind late at night.. but the problem is that i’m not sure how to go about them. Do I schedule them for the next available posting day even if it hasn’t been created the night before? (thus me maybe backtracking and delete it?)
Another thing is how personal can I be on here? though this blog feels like an extention of myself, i’ve grown up with early “internet safety” from the early 2000’s. I couldn’t say if it got modified through the years or not, but we got told to be careful of what you say and how much you share on the internet and yada yada.. Although I tell myself that I see more than one person sharing similar kind of stuff, a piece of my mind always go to it..
Do you have similar content’s anxieties? or complete different ones?
Hi Kristina =] I do have similar content anxieties with my blog. I try to find a certain ‘balance’ with tags, reviews, and wrap-ups/goal posts and if I’m not balanced and wanting to post too much of one thing and I’m not ready to post what “should be” next–especially if it should be a review–then I get extremely flustered and put off blogging all together.
That was basically me when it was early january with all the « 2020 posts » season 😂😂🤦🏽♀️
I’ve cut down how much I’m posting weekly — because when I open my feedly and I see someone has post 5 reviews in a week…I’m not going to read them all. I don’t have the time or energy! Short, fun posts I’ll probably look at those and respond. It can get really overwhelming for me.
I agree, we follow lots of other bloggers and five from the same person (specially reviews) is getting kind of alot xd but it gets also overwhelming to write too!
It’s always scary to share more of yourself. it’s scary to put yourself out there and hope that people like you, your blog and what you post. That’s why my best advice for new bloggers and old bloggers is to post what you want, what you like. People will either like it or they won’t. But having a place like a blog to post things you enjoy is what keeps me blogging year after year.
Yes that’s true! Plus thoses who really love you as a blogger will read it xx
