Getting back into Anime, on my own?

Getting back into Anime, on my own?

If you recall, I started to really watching animes mostly because Alex did, as it was something we watched together.. and now we are no longer together.

My favorite ones has been “My hero Academia” & “Seven Deadly Sins”, both just starting a new season, their forth one; However, although I previously was really excited by them.. I’m no longer sure of what will happen, as they are so strongly tied up with our relationship. Of course, i’ll try to watch a few episodes when more would have launched; but we’ll see, mainly i’m scared they might put me into a panic attacks.

I guess a “positive” is that there’s no longer the main «Sub vs Dub» debate? 😂 I can watch my dubs in peace now.. although I might have to surrender to Sins as sub as the dub version is said to only launch next year. What would be VERY different, however, is no longer having his commentary. As he read the manga for both of them, He would ask if I wanted spoiler or wait to discover it myself, as of which I had many questions I didn’t cared to have answered x) or things I just didn’t noticed.. which is no longer available to me.

I do follow a few TV series in french, that we wait for weeks after weeks, but I dont know- it’s kind of different for animes. I’m someone who would rather game or blog instead of sitting there binge-watching something; which may be a reason why I am not a fan of sub aahah — as I don’t understand the language, I really need to pay attention to read the subtitles and can’t just do multiple things at once. Then again, maybe it’s just an habit I need to grow – which even if I wanted to have it, I couldn’t have done it while I had been working 6 days a week for a month.

Apart of thoses we saw together, “Soul eater” has been the only one i’ve truly watched alone – and yeah, that one used to give me panic attacks aswell. I had started it back and kind of got tired of watching at the second season I believe? Then you have “Cardcaptor Sakura” (that I still haven’t re-watched) and “Pokemon” (only G1 & 2 are what I care about..) when I was younger.. but that’s it.

I don’t know if you’d see some more anime posts from now on .. it all depend onto if I choose to continue and try to find some new ones/watch them by myself.

  • What’s your favorite anime(s) ?
  • Is there any you’d want to recommend me?
  • Have you encountered something like this before? what did you do?

  1. My favorite anime is Fruits Basket and i would definitely recommend it. I havent been in the exact situation, but I have had activities that I only did with a certain friend and when the friendship fell apart, I didnt want to do them for a while because they reminded me of her. In the end I waited a while and then reexamined my interests in those activities to figure out if I was drawn to them because I liked them or because I did them with her. But putting something aside for a while is not a bad thing, and maybe you will find a new anime that you will enjoy!

    1. Thank you very much! Xx
Yeah, waiting a bit always seems like a good idea – allowing you some time to digest & heal a bit before throwing yourself at the wolves..
