Finally Fall Tag 🦇

Finally Fall Tag 🦇

Good morning,

We are gonna do the “Finally Fall Tag” today, that I first found on Heather @ The frozen Library’s blog; although the original creator is a mystery as the video was set on private, she found it through Mackenzie Lane’s video. Feel free to click their links to go check both of thoses girls’ answers!

1. In fall, the air is crisp and clear: name a book with a vivid setting!

I will keep screaming about that particular book, but Ruth Ware’s «In a Dark, Dark Wood» setting was just SO magical to me for some reason .. I absolutely adored that house of glass in the middle of the woods in late autumn/early winter.

2. Nature is beautiful… but also dying: name a book that is beautifully written, but also deals with a heavy topic like loss or grief.

Don’t keep me accountable for the beautifully written part (as we all know I have NO IDEA what is or isn’t) — But a book I loved that involved grief from BOTH parties is Brigid Kemmerer’s «Letters to the Lost».

3. Fall is back to school season: share a non-fiction book that taught you something new.

Technically it didn’t really “taught myself new”, but Matt Haig’s «Reasons to Stay Alive» gave me some light upon some of my depression/anxiety’s symptoms that my own psychologist kind of shrugged upon? Also some of the things he said in the book sort of just lit a light in my brain and I went “Oooh!!💡”.

4. In order to keep warm, it’s good to spend some time with the people we love: name a fictional family/household/friend-group that you’d like to be a part of.

Now, I rarely remember the family members’ in my books .. mostly because well, I don’t think there’s really many in the books I read? (or you know.. I just pass over them xd). But Emery Lord’s «When We Collided» really struck to me with Jonah’s family. There was SO many of them (six to be precise), and each of them were just so present in the book and close with each other. It was really nice to read and man, being an only child I was kind of Jealous of that bond they shared 😅.

5. The colorful leaves are piling up on the ground: show us a pile of fall-colored spines!

I’m gonna be bad and skip this one, sorry guys ! Not only am I writing this at midnight but erhmm.. I don’t have much fall-colored spines to show :/

6. Fall is the perfect time for some storytelling by the fireside: share a book wherein somebody is telling a story.

eeeh … to be honest, the only one I can think of right this moment is Ruth Ware’s «In a Dark, Dark Wood» again..

7. The nights are getting darker: share a dark, creepy read.

So, let’s not name Ruth Ware again 😂 Last thriller I read that blown my mind was Sophie McKenzie’s «Trust in Me». When I thought I found who the killer was… boy I was wrong, and I didn’t saw THAT coming.

8. The days are getting colder: name a short, heartwarming read that could warm up somebody’s cold and rainy day.

I have to go with «When We Collided» again, this was the ONE book that I felt just so lovey dovey while reading; wanting to just have some fun and do things with my then-boyfriend. My heart kept bubbling of love as I was reading.

9. Fall returns every year: name an old favorite that you’d like to return to soon.

Now that’s easy! Another one i’ll forever scream of — Josie Jaffrey’s Sovereign trilogy !! I just love her books so much, I can’t shake them off. Specially this time of the year, I just really really REALLY wanna re-read them all back-to-back.

10. Fall is the perfect time for cozy reading nights: share your favorite cozy reading “accessories”!

Blankets and my weeins, what else ?! 😘 Additionally, a good cup of coffee is great too.

11. Spread the autumn appreciation and tag some people!

As always, everyone reading this post who want to xx

  1. I remember loving Sophie McKenzie when I was younger and I should read her books again! I have been seeing Ruth Ware’s latest novel everywhere lately DD: I love Kemmerer’s fantasy novel and now I really want to read Letters to the Lost as well. I love Matt Haig’s nonfiction! I read Notes on a Nervous Planet and it was fantastic.
