Half-year check out (2020)

Half-year check out (2020)

Hello !

June is already waving us goodbye, which mean we’ve crossed the half-point checkout of 2020! So let’s see how this year has been so far, and how much i’ve accomplished -or didn’t-

⇒ In case you need a reminder; My resolutions of 2020, Things I wanted to change 2020.

So far, this year hasn’t been the greatest. It started by getting over my breakup for the first few months, until the covid hit us in Canada and eventually sent us all in quarantine — into which I just kept overworking myself and never really stopped.. only barely diminuated my work hours after it ended (~10hrs a week less) 🙃 To final with the blatant racism within our world that just knocked me down even more.

I’m currently in a sort of depressive mode, where I often reflect on how happier and better I had been in the last year, only to go back where I am now.. which of course doesn’t quite help the situation 😅 and i’m not quite sure what to do with it; My meds are good, we are getting sunshine and too much heat, we can’t barely get anywhere still, etc..

But anyway — let’s gets into this post and onto my resolutions check-ups, shall we?

My Goals ;

⇒  Pass my driving test (7,1 to 7,2) ⭕️
Not yet, but soon! I have my appointment for my first road test on the end of July

⇒ Try atleast one (1) audiobook ✅
This, I did !! I finished reading “Geekerella” via audio on April 14th

⇒ Read more daytime, still ❌
Not reaally.. I did it here and there, but definately not a new habit. With everything going on, I even stopped reading on my breaks at work — specially on evenings as i’m mostly called back to help (and gosh I hate interrupting my reading at random places!! 🙊)

⇒  Goodread goals – 20 books ⭕️
Going pretty good with this aswell, I just finished my 13th book (65%). Only 10 left!!

Among thoses: French (2) & English (11) — Physical (7) Ebooks (4) & Audio (1)

Things I wanted to change in 2020 ;

⇒ Fix my sleep schedule ❌
Nope, that didn’t worked xd now with summer and the heat, mixed with the fact that I can’t sleep with a fan blowing on me and my allergies peaking up with either a fan on or the windows open — it is harder for my insomniac self to fall asleep.

⇒ Get out more (“in public”) ❌
yeahhh that kinda flopped with Covid..

⇒ Start going to the gym? ✅
Okay this one I did, but modified a bit. I didn’t joined a gym (which covid took down with it, anyway); BUT I did went back with my Beach Body on Demand and except for this past week, I succeeded onto working out twice a week.

⇒ Read more ⭕️
I mean.. kind of ? I kept going on atleast before sleep almost everyday, except for June where I slipped a bit..

⇒ Spend more time “outside” ❌
I failed that.. it was winter, and then covid happened, right now it’s the heat waves 🤣 WAY too hot for me, and I already got a heat stroke this year (inside!!) so i’m not really fond of having another one..

⇒ Take more pictures ❌
Ending with a flop.. I definately not. Specially not of myself lately, while loving the feel of not having hair around my shoulders and ears, i’m still not quite sure what I think when looking in the mirror.. can’t find that good picture.

How was your year so far?
Are you on a good track (or not) with your goals for 2020?

    1. Thank you for the positive reminder! Hopefully the next six months can only get better, eh 😅

  1. I loved Tell Me Three Things! How did you enjoy your audiobook? I hear you about this year. It’s been difficult for sure. I was working from home for 6-8 weeks and I live alone, and we had a stay at home order, so I was going a little claustrophobic and lonely after a while of being in my apartment 🙁

    1. Oh my lord 😶 i felt lonely living with my parents AND seeing customers at work.. so I can’t imagine how much you must’ve felt!!

      Yes I loved tell me three things too!! I actually enjoyed the audiobook so much more that i’d thoughts I would.. geekerella was fantastic, I still think about that one!

  2. I hear you… this year’s been really difficult so far. Wishing you all the best for the next six months!
