Good morning !
After having read Clo’s post about if she’d ever take a co-blogger, along with her fears and such, I decided I should express the hows of having Alex with us on here !
Feel free to go read her post, and hopefully i’ll clear some things for you or even just have a nice chat together.
Starting with the beggining;
I’ve started dating him in June, so it’ll soon be three months now. Around thoses months, it wasn’t rare to find some bloggers doing anime/manga/comic books/videogames posts — which seemed to be pretty loved, from what I saw ! I just wasn’t into branching out yet, and i’m not one to have mangas or anime (yet anyway.)
As everything always come to me at work it seems, the thought came while I was working; just brushed it off a few weeks as I was just like eeeh.. i don’t know if he’d want to .. I knew he was into anime and manga, as he did told me (you bet I asked if he liked reading .. ahah !)
Until, I finally decided to take the plundge and asked him in July! In my mind, he could have been the other half of my blog covering the anime/manga side (later deciding expending more to videogames and creepypastas together); and furthermore, I was thinking he could make an appearance like, idk, once a week or twice a month? you know, I was going for something small..
Not only did he accepted, but went so far from that ! to my shock, he wanted two days a week, PLUS one day we could do a post together or something. It was really cute of him, I gotta admit, as of course he know of my blogging and how much it meant to me ! I just .. wasn’t sure I wanted to give him as much space .. ahah !
As you can probly tell now, I accepted and talked of what days he wanted and whatnot. I even realized it was probly the best; We end up having 5 posts a week instead of 3, AND I get to only panic about mine !
How does it works ? ;
I am a bit of a paranoid one .. and of course, we are talking about our babies here !! how can we possibly “share” it without stressing too much?
I do all-heartly trust Alex at 100%… but what if. like, he just started blogging, you don’t want your hardwork to be missplaced or something to happen. Well my guys, first he have a wordpress account now ! making it not only easier that he don’t need me to write his posts and comment on his behalf, he can do so himself like a big boy!
Then, wordpress blogs have a handy thing where you can have roles. Of course I keep my “owner” role, enabling me to do ALLL the things ! And for now, Alex have the author role (we’ll see if im gonna change it later, ahah) ; meaning he can do watever he want with HIS posts only (write them, edits, comments, schedule..) but he don’t have access to the formating of the blog nor my posts.
That way, I have the safety of “Iknow what I am doing, and only me can access it.” Also as I love putting stuff in my drafts like reviews and Bujo posts, I know it can’t get deleted by error as we know accidents happens. I was also thinking placing him there to start, and giving him a higher level role after once he’d be more experienced with it or something.
** His account don’t get to share on the twitter/tumblr I set up to share my posts going live on, and we both only receive notifications our own posts gets. **
How is it going, now ? ;
I gotta say I am really impressed !! not only has he never skipped a post thus far, but I didn’t even needed to explain him the scheduling and category/tags as I intended to.
I’m quite pleased that we have this in common, as he seems to like it as much as I do, heheh ! And I also have a few ideas of things we can post as a couple, either on the same post or separate, like the bilingual couple one I talked before; as he mainly speak english while i’m mainly a frenchie. I can’t wait to see how my blog will evolve with how he’ll get better at it with time!
¬ What do you think of Alex joining us, thus far ?
¬ Anything you’d like us, or him specifically, to post ?
¬ Are you thinking of adding a co-blogger to your own blog?
¬ Was my post helpful to you ?
I’ve tried co-blogging A LOT in the past, but I feel like I’m one of those people who can’t take the stress of sharing responsibilities. xD Now I’d only be willing to do it with a close friend/someone I know in real life. 🙂 But Alex seems WONDERFUL so far, and it’s just great how he’s so responsible. ♥
yes, definately needs someone special you share something with rather than a total stranger.
Aww he definately is ❤
It’s so sweet that you two are able to blog together. I’ve read his posts as well and you’re both great writers and have great posts. Vous êtes très chanceux que sa marche aussi bien que ça. Félicitations! 😀
Aww thanks ! Merci ! <3
It’s so nice that you and Alex have been able to share together on your blog. It’s great having multiple perspectives and content to read. <3
Thank you! ❤️
That’s really cool that you guys co-blog. It’s also great how responsible he is. You guys are going great.
Thank you !
<3 <3 <3 eeeek I just love that my post inspired this lovely one, I don't actually read any of Alex's posts, mainly cause I'm not really into anime, manga or games. You know I'm down for a discussion post though, like, gimme a discussion and I'm so there! And you already know my thoughts on having a co-blogger haha xxx
Yeah- he did posted one of his goals and how music saved him though!
Hahha yep for sure!
I would love to have a co-blogger, especially seeing your blog and that of the Bookidotes. But I have tried the co-blogging with a friend of mine a few years earlier and it didn’t work out. May be it is just for me.
Glad Alex and you are rocking it!
aww, I feel it depend on the person too. you have to find someone whom you know isn’t too much of a slacker and give both of yous ideas for each other’s posts? gotta have a good communication for sure.
I’m glad the co-blogging thing is working out so well for you guys! I’ve been enjoying reading both of your posts 🙂
That definitely seems like one of the huge benefits of having a co blogger though, that the blog gets updated several times a week, but you only actually have to worry about some of those updates. Generally I go a few days, think ‘uh-oh, I haven’t posted in a while!’ and then have to try and come up with something (I’m not the most organised of people!). I imagine having a co-blogger takes away some of the stress! 🙂
Oh yeah it does! Though im currently panicking a bit of needing to finish my book ASAP for my blogtour and im a bit shy of 30% in 😂 but you know..
