Open letter to the book blogging community ..

Open letter to the book blogging community ..

Hello my people !

I’ve been book blogging for a year now (on the tumblr counterpart) and on here for 5months already. I know it may seems kind of odd as it’s not what you are used to on my blog, but I felt the need the write an heartfelt and open letter to you all, in this bookish community.

If you aren’t used to the concept; it’s basically me writing a letter publicly, on this blog, which is destined to the entirety of the community in this instance.

So here it is .. :

” Dear you who’s reading this,

It may feel out of place, as maybe we haven’t much talked yet. But it doesn’t matter, everyone and anyone is included in this letter. I just wanted to thank all of you for being so kind and supportive. It does means a lot for me ♥

As I haven’t really felt like I belonged somewhere before and with all my problems to gain friends (somehow..), I won’t hide how I was a bit scared into jumping into this adventure and just, the community as a whole… How will they be ? What am I gonna say ? Am I just gonna be pushed on the side and ignored?

I gotta say I was pleasently surprised. Everyone just welcomed me with open arms and was so nice to me! I don’t think I ever got someone who was being rude or unfriendly so far .. in 5months ! (hopefully I won’t jynx me here, ahah) It was easier than I thought to interact with others and was offered some great help with how formating worked, and of course with ideas and everything in general. Fastforward into now, I get to speak with fellow bookbloggers everyday; it just feels like it always has been ! I’m truly grateful for the new friends I found along the way.

Thank you for everything, and finally being my place where I felt like I truly belong somewhere. you are all fantastic & I love you all! “

What would you like to say to the community ?

  1. Lovely letter girl! I think this community also gives me a sense of belonging, like here with fellow bookbloggers I know I’ve found my people and it’s amazing. Whilst I don’t find it hard to make friends irl I do find socialising hard, I find it hard talking to ppl my own age because they don’t understand me and there’s no real conversation to me at least.

But here, there’s always something to talk about, discuss whether it’s a book or another topic. We’re all bookworms, bookbloggers but so much more than that.

Also I’d just like to say you’re English has improved from when I first started talking to you girl, so well done! The English language is a bizarre one 😉

    1. Aww thank you! I didnt noticed, ahaha 😂 I do need to speak it almost every day at work soo..

Thank you❤️ yes indeed! I find the same, although i’m a bit older, it stays hard to really communicate and finding new friends :/ i was thinking id better get an activity or something if id wanna get a significant other because xD knowing where i work, eeeeh … I wouldnt want anyone from there. And of course he may think im someone im not – as ironically i think im on the ace spectrum somewhere, atleast demi 🙈 so heh.
But yeah we are all near eachothers in term of hobbies; while with strangers I find myself going like eeeeh.. what shall I say now. Would this scare them?! You know 😂😅

      1. I totally get you girl! You’ll find someone, I’m sure of it 🙂 I have to remind myself that it’s totally fine to be single whilst all my friends from secondary school seem to be dating. At least I’ll know who I am as a person etter and know I can cope being single. Plus you have your wee pups, dogs are as loyal as they get…other than books of course hehe

        1. Absolutely! I know they won’t leave me for anything … except that one time that will destroy me but- we unfortunately cannot avoid that one. But both still have like 10years each so!

    1. Ahahah i’ll gladly accept !
There’s just something about other bloggers/bookworm that feels different than bare strangers – we all have so much in common, it feels natural and like we are all friends already!

          1. Actually, nope 🙊 there’s other french speaker provinces, hehe. I’m actually just bellow the quebec province ~

            Oh noo.. you totally should!

  2. Hi Kristina that’s exactly how I feel about the blogging community. And that’s something I never expected when I began blogging! This community is so supportive it gives me energy every day 😉

  3. I am 100% with you on this one. I was kinda flailing with no hobbies or real interests before I started my blog.

Now it’s so good to have something productive and interactive to throw my energy into 🙃

    1. Yeah!!
But now we’d need another one to find someone 😂😂 can be done with our blogs, but eeerh, the chance they are close is slight hah! But it’s a great thing nonetheless to have something to do and feel less alone!! So yay ! 👏🏼

  4. This is just so wonderful, Kristina! I’m an extremely shy girl, and I’m not really one to share my opinions in real life, but the bookish community has given me a space to be ME. I’m so glad you’re blogging books, lovely; thank you for sharing your voice to the community, and for being such an absolute sweetheart. ♥

    1. Aww ❤️❤️ thank You

Yes I so agree!! In other spaces, it feels like you’re trying but… people dont really give you that much acceptance. Or end up ignoring you, most times. On here it feels more like a family where everyone welcome you with open arms and communicate alot, mostly. From what I see, theres also more calm discussion over opinions than fights; which is really good!

  5. This is so beautiful and I’m so happy you shared this <3 <3 I share the same feelings about book blogging and the community, it's the most wonderful feeling of it all, finding a place where you feel like you belong and you can express yourself and chatting with so many wonderful people <3 <3 <3

    1. Indeed ❤❤

Thank you xx it’s slightly not what I was planning to say, as I forgot my earlier draft; my brain didn’t saved it, ahah

      1. That happens to me all the time 😂 I want to write something and don’t write it down or just, do something else and then, it’s gone and I haaaaaaate that feeling 😂

  6. Beautifully written! <3 This community is indeed the best! Everyone is so supportive and friendly and amazing! Congratulations on reaching 1 year on Tumblr and 5 months on your blog! I can't wait to read more of your posts! 🙂

    1. Aww thank you so much ❤️ sure went by quick – and ooh how I see the difference in my posts ahaha I find my first ones so crindgy now 🙈

Say something 💕
