Rearranging shelves & Un-hauling books
Happy Sunday everyone!
How many times have I said that I should rearrange my bookshelves and ended up not doing it ? Way too many times 😅 Well happy news, I finally DID IT!! 👏🏼👏🏼 I also managed to un-haul quite alot of books.. which kinda surprised me.
I thought it would be fun to share my new shelves organisation with you guys, the last time being when I got my new shelving in March 2020.. as you could probably guess, I got a load of new books in the last year: finally filling my shelves and kinda “overloading” it in the set-up it was in, running out of place to shove them..
First, let’s have the « Before » picture. All the books had been filled originally vertically, and then as I got them out of my “Unread pile” I just kinda shoved them horizontally wherever it seemed to fit. Which is not a good look
I still don’t have a particular style of organisation here, however, all the books that I have from the same author are now together (rather than series only). I also wanted to separate my french from my english books, instead of being mixmatching everywhere, having all the same language in one square (exception with Ruth Ware’s, there’s one I got in french in the pile, etc).
I also gained an extra square for books as I took one of my two gaming ones, and decided to expose them on the top instead; having the second one being solely my amiibos. The last three on the bottom (Big books/table-thing & doggie square) as been left un-touched.
Un-hauled books;
As i’ve mentionned before, I’ve grown quite dissapointed of recent French books that I found.. so it’s no surprise that all but one are in french. I also took the opportunity to let go of some books that I read ages ago that I don’t quite remember, and don’t feel like i’ll be reading again — for a total of 13!
What’s your current shelf organisation, do you have one?
Have you gotten rid of any books lately?

I currently organize my books just by favorites and authors. I also have most of my mass paperback below because I prefer showing my bigger books. I don’t really have a system but I organized them by genre for years before getting bored. I’m moving next month so I have few boxes of books I plan to unhaul before that.
Ooff yes, That would be a good thing to unhaul before then so you can only pack the ones you do want 😅
I mainly had them only sorted by read/unread. Now however I have added French/english too, and I created a shelf strictly for my hardback.. which is my favorite sofar! whenever I can, I also put the color together :p
