Star-Crossed ~ Minnie Darke ☆ Review
Hola,
I finally finished my first book of the month ✨ Although it shamely isn’t on my Spring’s TBR- it was indeed a book from my own shelf & a backlist!
Goodread’s page
4 / 5 stars
The novel is written in quite a more harder english than I would’ve thought, which as a second language learner, needed me some time to get used to. While it did became easier on me, it still took me a longer time to read. Added to the difficulty, the story also follow a couple of minor characters; which I originally thought was on random, to later find out they were all related together.
Despite not being a true follower of the stars, though I do feel this sense of belonging to my Capricorn sign, it was nice to read how much Nick believed in it aswell as the impact her “minor” changes into his horoscope made on other persons. Though i’d arguily say that was for the best, on most cases. Inspired by Nick’s belief, it also got me to listen to the playlist of “Capricorn Today” podcast on spotify 😅
I loved the major themes in this book, and although iknow in this case it’s not “real” and it was all orchestred by someone — how you can’t escape fate (or stars, in this case). How what is meant to be will always find it’s way back to you, no matter the tweakings.
Bonus; Nick in the third chapter, decoding his horoscope to Justine
