Trust in me ~ Sophie McKenzie ☆ Review

Heey !

So i’ve had this book standing on my shelves for years, in the french paperback version called « Appelle-moi ». After a spree of YA & contemporaries, I just felt like reading another thriller..

Goodread’s page

 4 / 5 stars

The first about 40% of the book was quite dragging, I wasn’t quite sure why the author choosed to include that part of the story. There was some chapters that took me a while to realize it was in the killer’s mind, although they were formatted different. This give this story an interesting part, as we get all his victim’s “stories”, and one of them make the readers realize who the killer might be .. something that of course our main character doesn’t know yet.

From this point onward, I was really IN the book and didn’t wanted to stop reading. What was going to happen? Is he gonna kill her too before she discover him? There seemed to always have a plot-twist I didn’t see coming, which kept me reading.

The final plot twist took me absolutely by surprise, the killer wasn’t the one I had anticipated at all! And I am pleasantly surprised by that ending, I couldn’t imagine a better one for that novel. It’s one of those thrillers who emphasis the fact that we don’t really know our surroundings and people in our life at all ..

    1. I had absolutely forgot about it in my review, but it had a « Dexter » feel to It ! Though well… the killer wasn’t in the police 😂 once I got that vibe i was hooked!
