Words on Bathroom Walls ~ Julia Walton β˜† Review

Good Morning!

Time for another review, This one has been on my tbr for a fairly long time, I think.. and I finally picked it up and finished it! πŸ˜„Β If my memory serves my correctly, I think I got this book upon Sophie @ Beware of the Reader‘s recommendation… I’m almost positive it was hers, but I searched on her blog for a while and didn’t found it- so I may be mistaken; I really should write thoses things down..

The novel honestly wasn’t what I would’ve thought it was.. I however loved the format of a “therapy diary”; where we get Adam’s dosage changes when starting the chapter, to follow with Adam’s “writing” for that session – as he’s refusing to speak to his therapist, and that’s how the story is told to us. Next to the first person direct POV, story-telling through diaries is probably my second favorite!

I loved Adam & Rebecca right away – there’s just something about them that make them real to me, even if one isn’t, and I really warmed up towards Maya. Even though we know from the synopsis he wanna keep appearing “sane” to her and therefore not tell her for his Schizofrenia, I loved to see them together; and i’m even more happy that it got an happy ending and NOT end that she was an hallucination, like the other two novels that i’ve read..Β *aherm*

As i’m not a religious person, I appreciated that while they’re attending a Catholic school – so we have the little details of some religion here and there; the story isn’t actually Religion-based as Adam, nor his parents, are really full on religious people. If that’s something that can bother you, it remains fairly tolerable in the background.
