4 Books & their French translation (#4; pretty french covers)
Good morning, everyone!
I’m a native french speaker, and as I prefer to read in French aswell as having found some french bloggers to follow, it happens that I see books translated that i’m used to see in their english counterpart.. and every. time. it just feels wierd to me 😅
Some are only a change in wording to be translated in French while the cover remains unchanged.. while some do get a revamp of the cover entirely. This time, I had just been browsing my favorite bookstore online, and I happen to cross some gorgeous french covers for once! (1-Wishlist / 2-AAPI month / 3- LGBTQ+)
♢ The book thief [GR]
Starting with a sample one, but that’s the first time that I ever saw that one.. and I quite like it. I also haven’t read it; but I feel you have the context of the book illustrated. I don’t know wat’s up with the dominoes??
♢ More than we can tell [GR]
This had been the first one that caught my eye; so gorgeous !! Although I do love sms texts alot in books, the more delicate look of the printed flowers definately brings more to it.
♢ The seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo [GR]
The old-hollywood feel of this one, though both are of a person, feels so much better. A headshot behind the wheel is so beautiful, makes me think of “Daisy Jones & the Six” and less.. green 😅
♢ The time-travelers’s wife [GR]
Lastly, the clock & flowers looks way better to my eyes than the one we see everywhere with people in it.
What do you think of this bunch?
