Reflection Time

We are starting right into #BookendingWinter for my first post ! We are gonna do Laurie @ Laurieās Bookshelfās post for the 2nd of December. [Her post right here]
ā Reflection time
December is here and that means itās time to look back on the past year. How was your 2019 regarding books? Did you haul too many books? Did you have a great reading year? Too many (E)ARCs left? And did you pass your reading challenge? Furthermore, itās time to look forward. What goals would you like to reach in the last month of 2019? Certain books you want to read before 2020 is upon us? Do you have reading goals for 2020? So, letās reflect on your bookish 2019!
ā¦ 2019 was a pretty good reading month for me, although I set my reading goal at only 15 to not stress myself too much about it, Iāve went above it by 11 books so far !! There were months where I read 3/4books, and then some where I only read 1 or 2, but overall I did reached my reading goal and went beyond so iām happy
ā¦ My e-arcs/Review requests thrones at ZERO currently My last one that had gotten quite out of control on the wait time period has been āScreamcatcher Web Worldā; but since I posted my review, I havenāt taken on anything else thus far.
ā¦ I actually needed to go check my twitter to verify how many books I bought this year, hahah ā and iām quite proud to report it has only been six; Meet me in Cockleberry Bay, Star-Crossed, The chaos of standing still, Celle qui lisait dans mes pensĆ©es, Solitaire & Notes on a nervous planet. Out of them, Iāve read only two though.. Solitaire & Meet me in cockleberry bay, so quite a few had been added on my un-read shelf woops.
ā¦ I had a personal goal to read more daytime .. which Iād say it had gotten *better*, but still gotta do some ameliorations to be able to finish as many books as some of the other bloggers out there.
ā¦ Also out of curiosity, letās make a countdown of how many books iāve read in each of my known languages, shall we ?
French ā [8] VS English ā [18] ; Iām honestly surprised. Compared to when I didnāt read any, I jumped straight to reading 18 of them! (though I donāt recall how many iāve read in 2018 right now..)
Goals for the next reading year;
- Read more daytime instead of solely before sleep [again]
- Try atleast one audiobook!!
- Raising the Goodread Goals to 20; letās try to go for half/half of french & english
Whatās your reading goals for 2020?
Oops, I forgot the bookhaul part! It has been terrible, I hauled too muchā¦ā¦.. And yay for reading more English books!
haha oops
but hey, maybe it was on purpose.. :0)
oooh this looks like so much fun to do, and hey congrats on going above and beyond your reading goal!! It sounds like you did really really well this year! I overbought books and over-requested ARCs, so Iām just drowning in books lol
Thank you !
but iām pretty good at alterning something I own VS something from my library
thought books are the best things to be drowining in, ahaha. I still have 23 unread books on my shelf
Congrats! Youāve got some great goals! I just started listening to audiobooks this year, and theyāre still really hit or miss for me! Iāve started trying to get up earlier and reading before I go to work, it seems to be working! Because then Iām not so tired from staying up late to finish a book!
yeah.. iām one to get really bothered by certain kind of voices.. so I need to listen to make sure the voice that read it isnāt going on my nerves XD or else thatās gonna be one hell of a long time ..
as I was only working at 230pm I forced myself to get moving and did both my exerciced and some reading done!
ohh yeah that works! I actually did that yesterday
Congrats on hitting your goals! Thatās always such a fantastic feeling, Iām so happy for you! I definitely went a bit umā¦ my book haul was over the top, but I took advantage of all the price drops that I could, in my defense. What are some of the french books you want to try? Iām looking for recommendations
Happy reading!!
Thank you ! It really is, specially if you werenāt so sure to hit it. (or you know, WAY before the end xd)
ahahah well thatās okay, being surrounded by books is another fantastic feeling
Mmmh- thatās a hard one, I only have a few of them on my shelves currently (been going more for english lately, havenāt found any great ones).. But Guillaume Musso dropped a new novel not so long ago, and while I kinda stopped reading them iām kinda tempted. Itās called āLa vie secrĆØte des Ć©crivainsā
Well done for no arc requests!! Iām definitely wanting to read more this month. Iāve been super lacking the past few weeks and need to get them all done. Itās good that youāre reading both French and English!
Yep.. same actually XD I gravitate towards 1-2 books per month and errh.. I kind of donāt like that?
Iāve been preorizing english this past year, probably because of blogging and you know, hyped books being english only xD My libby also has way more interesting books in eng. rather than french ā but I donāt want my French reading to go away, specially how thereās some really good ones from Quebec available only in french! (and my brain do need the break.. ahah)
this is such a good post! definitely something id like to partake in.
really proud of your progress this year!!
Thank you! I am quite proud too
Not the most impressive but hey, thatās a start
Congrats on your goals! Good luck with the year ahead
Thank you xx
Goodluck with your own goal for 2020 too
